Richard Cook is a Specialist Environmental Scientist based in Knight Piésold’s North Bay office. He is a professional geoscientist with 20 years of experience as an environmental practitioner. With a technical grounding in water quality and hydrogeology, he regularly manages multidisciplinary environmental baseline studies and has prepared, managed, and audited environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) of resource projects within Canada and internationally. He has demonstrated leadership in applying and auditing the World Bank’s Equator Principles and the International Finance Corporation’s Performance Standards. Richard has led various levels of project feasibility studies as an environmental qualified person (QP). In his role as ESIA project manager, he is often called upon to engage a diverse range of stakeholder groups, including government regulatory bodies, potentially affected communities, and aboriginal/indigenous groups.
