Dr. Cindy Starzyk is a Senior Hydrogeologist based in Knight Piésold’s Vancouver office. She has a doctorate in Geological Engineering with a focus in Hydrogeology from the University of British Columbia. She has 10 years of multi-disciplinary consulting experience overseeing water resource, contaminated site, and geotechnical engineering projects at mining, oil and gas, and commercial properties.
She has broad experience assessing baseline hydrogeology, analytical and numerical groundwater analyses, open pit hydrogeology, and impact assessments. She specializes in hydrologic modeling to evaluate mine site waste and water management strategies for the assessment of environmental effects and in the characterization of watershed-scale hydrology and the interaction between groundwater and surface water. She has worked throughout North and South America on mining projects at stages from permitting to closure, including sites located in wet and dry environments and regions with permafrost.
