Richard Cook is a Specialist Environmental Scientist based in Knight Piésold’s North Bay office. He is a professional geoscientist with 22 years of experience in the conduct of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), water quality assessments, and mine closure planning. He has also been involved in regulatory, community and aboriginal consultation programs, traditional knowledge studies, and socio-economic impact assessments. A considerable portion of his work has been in arctic and cold climates. His current responsibilities include managing social and environmental impact assessments of industrial projects within Canada and abroad.
He is familiar with the Mining Association of Canada’s Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) Initiative and is a qualified Verification Service Provider (VSP).
