We are hiring for a Geotechnical Engineer (Mining Rock Mechanics) at our North Bay, Ontario office.

An ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Geological or Mining Engineering. The applicant must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO. Candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in rock mechanics and the ability to communicate fluently in English. This position may include opportunities for domestic and international travel to meet the needs of our clients. 

A graduate degree in rock mechanics, experience in the consulting industry or an operating mine, experience with numerical modelling and the ability to communicate in Spanish or French are all considered assets.

Responsibilities may include the following:

• Planning, coordination and implementation of geomechanical site investigations
• Rock mass classification and the selection of geomechanical domains
• Numerical modelling and analyses including stability assessments for open pit slopes and/or underground excavations
• Project management and coordination
• Travel both domestically and internationally (as required) to meet the needs of our clients
