The Role:

Seeking a laboratory technician to work in our Denver based lab performing concrete and soil testing who is interested in a challenging technical position with continuous opportunities to learn. Successful candidates must be self-disciplined, motivated and be able to work in a team environment. This position requires attention to detail, ability to manage multiple responsibilities and strong communication skills. Willing to train.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform standard soils testing.
  • Completion of test result documentation.
  • Maintain a clean work area and equipment to documented health and safety standards.
  • Keep project managers advised of work status, problems, and progress related to work assignments.

An Ideal Candidate:

  • Must have a good work ethic and be able to multitask, balance workload and take direction from multiple clients.
  • Must be able to follow directions and demonstrate strong attention to details.
  • Intermediate math skills and experience with Microsoft Office a plus.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be willing to work weekends as required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 0-5 years of previous geotechnical laboratory experience is a plus.
  • Construction materials testing experience a plus.
  • Certification (NICET, ICC, ACI) by a qualified national, regional or state authority as appropriate to the services is a plus. 
  • Valid CO Drivers License is required.

Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, or smell. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Work Environment:

Work will be performed in a geotechnical laboratory and may be exposed to varying ambient conditions, including but not limited to dust, heat and noise. Adherence to safety standards including those of the firm, MSHA, OSHA is mandatory.

Compensation:

In accordance with Colorado state law, the following hourly compensation range is applicable for the job and Colorado location associated with this requisition: $23.00 to $30.00/hour. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon compensable factors, including experience, education, and skill level.
