Project Overview

Corporación Nacional del Cobre (CODELCO) has requested the development of the Basic Engineering of the Stage IX Talabre Dam Expansion Project. This includes the design of the dam perimeter wall reraise from 2,493 masl to 2,500 masl, corresponding to the Stage IX of the reraise, and from 2,500 masl to 2,503 masl, for the thickened tailings project, PRET. It also includes the design of new tailings pumping facilities for their transport and distribution in the facility, pumping facilities for water recovery from inside the reservoir, and subsequent recirculation. This includes the electrical supply and the control and monitoring system for the facilities.

Project Role

CODELCO previously retained Knight Piésold for the development of the Conceptual Engineering for the construction of the Stage IX of the Talabre Dam in the context of the Stage IX of the Talabre Dam Expansion Project, in its pre-seasibility stage. CODELCO has commissioned Knight Piésold to continue the Basic Engineering for the feasibility stage in the context of the development of the same project.

  • Drafting of documents for the preparation of the project's Investment API
  • Project BIM modeling
