Junior Civil Engineer (Dams & Hydropower)

The Dams and Hydropower division within Knight Piésold is expanding and currently looking for a Junior Civil Engineer (Dams & Hydropower) to join the team in our Pretoria office.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BSc Eng (Civil) or B Eng (Civil)
  • At least 2 years post-graduate experience, preferably in dams and/or hydraulic structures.
  • The ideal candidate must have a basic knowledge of AutoCAD and HECRAS.
  • The ideal candidate should be flexible to take up occasional site positions as and when the opportunities are presented.
  • Basic modelling skills
  • Valid driving license
  • Willing to travel

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the design aspects of engineering, and be involved in calculations, analysis and have the knowledge to work on the civil design systems.
  • To assist the senior staff accurately and efficiently in the respective division in the compilation and timeous submission of tenders and proposals.
  • To be able to compile bill of quantities.
  • Shadow senior engineers on a site or to be assigned as ARE for basic site inspection or supervision.
  • Attend meetings with client about tender and project progress.
