Disciplines/What You’ll Do

Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you may support a variety of mechanical engineering projects related to mining, water resources, and hydropower infrastructure, including:

  • Assist in applying mechanical engineering principles to develop safe, economical, and innovative design solutions.
  • Assist with technical analyses, calculations, and modeling, including Newtonian and non-Newtonian pump/pipe systems, rheology evaluations, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and 3D layout modeling.
  • Assist in the development of engineering drawings including plans and specifications based on calculations.
  • Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and engineering deliverables.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning, design, and execution.

Here's what we are looking for...

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhDin Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Students entering their junior year, senior year, or graduate studies are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interest in developing engineering and technical skills in a consulting environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications 

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and deliver quality work.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to travel to project and field locations as needed.
  • Interest in learning/applying mechanical engineering fundamentals.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Civil 3D preferred.

Compensation 

In accordance with Colorado state law, the hourly pay range for this position is: $25.00 - $30.00 an hour.  Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based on experience, education, and skill level.

Work Environment

Work will be in both an office and field environment with potential travel to various outdoor sites determined by project needs. Adherence to safety standards including those of the firm, MSHA, OSHA is mandatory.
