March 16, 2021, Lima, Peru – Knight Piésold Peru has appointed Guillermo Barreda to the position of General Manager in early 2021, after Mario Villavisencio transitioned to a regional director role to focus on client relations and project delivery.

Mr. Barreda joined Knight Piésold in 1997 as a project engineer and spent time in the Lima and Perth offices before becoming an engineering manager in the Lima office in 2005. He is a civil engineer with technical expertise in the design and construction supervision of mining and civil works for projects in Peru and internationally. His design experience includes tailings dams, heap leach pads, waste dumps, water dams, water management and water balance, and mine closure.  

“Guillermo has been managing the engineering department of the Lima office for 15 years and his appointment to general manager was a natural transition,” said Mr. Villavisencio, Director. “He has been leading multidisciplinary teams for major projects in the country, and with his steady hand guiding our operations, I am confident that he will propel the company to even greater success.”
