December 15, 2014, Kitwe, Zambia – Knight Piésold has concluded an agreement with URS Corporation (now AECOM) to take over Scott Wilson Piésold, strengthening its presence in Zambia and Southern Africa.

Scott Wilson Piésold has a shared history with Knight Piésold. In early 2000, Knight Piésold’s Ashford operations in the United Kingdom broke away from the international Knight Piésold group, but retained its Zambian interest. The Scott Wilson Group acquired Knight Piésold Ashford and operated its office in Kitwe as Scott Wilson Piésold. URS Corporation subsequently purchased Scott Wilson Piésold.

Knight Piésold has a fully operational office in Lusaka, and the acquisition further deepens the company’s core competencies as the Kitwe office brings strong sector expertise in mining and hydropower. Since the acquisition, the Zambian operations have been awarded a growing number of projects in the transportation, mining, and hydropower sectors.
