November 23, 2018, Johannesburg, South Africa – Knight Piésold Southern Africa, in partnership with Foskor (Pty) Ltd., sponsored equipment for three mobile classrooms for the Laerskool Noord (Red School). The school, located in Phalaborwa, held an official opening of the classrooms on November 14.

The classrooms, which were provided by the Department of Education to the school, required additional equipment to be fully operational. Foskor supplied electrical installations and air conditioning, while Knight Piésold furnished the classrooms with desks and chairs.

Knight Piésold has been a part of the Phalaborwa community for over three decades and has jumped on this initiative to partner with Foskor, a long-time mining client, to make a bigger difference and create a bigger change within the community.

Managing Director Vishal Haripersad said, “We saw this opportunity as an investment to uplift and create a difference, which is key to our current Corporate Social Investment Project called Bokomoso—meaning ‘their future’.” Knight Piésold is focused on developing the next generation of South African engineers through investments at schools throughout the country. In October, Knight Piésold donated physical science and biology equipment for the laboratories of ML Sultan Secondary School. Laerskool Noord is the first primary school that the company has invested in.

The classrooms are fully equipped and ready for 2019 enrolments. This partnership is a true reflection of what working together to create a difference means.
